With the tragic recent events that took place in Brussels airport, it is understandable that a lot of people are becoming increasingly nervous about flying. It seems that it is not only being on a plane that is scaring people off but also actually waiting in the airport.
There are ways in which you can try and stay safe when in an airport although there is no way to avoid every situation.
Never leave any bags unattended, even if it is just for a minute. This doesn’t just mean going off to the toilet or to a shop, it also means keeping the opening of the bag in your sight when sat down waiting for your flight to be called. Never push your bag under your seat where you cannot see it and it can be accessed from the other side.
Keep all family members together if possible, in case there is an emergency. This means you can get out as quick as possible without trying to find each other. If you see any suspicious behaviour, do not be afraid to report it to the airport security staff.
