Egypt is a fascinating country and has a wealth of history for you to explore. It I a great place to take a holiday if you are looking for something a little more exhilarating than lazing in the sun on the beach or drinking by the pool side bar.
The pyramids in Egypt are a massive tourist attraction and when you seem them in person it is easy to see why. There are over 118 masonry built pyramids in Egypt often varying in size and structure.
The oldest pyramids can be found at Saqqara, northwest of Memphis. Pyramid of Djoser is said to be the oldest pyramid discovered to date and was constructed in 2630 BC–2611 BC, which was built during the third dynasty.
Tourists are allowed in certain pyramids but cameras are forbidden so make sure you get a good look around to take your memories with you. Many companies offered guided tours around the pyramids for as little as £25 per person, but if you have young children who may not want to walk much you can opt to use a horse and carriage.
