For some adults, the first holiday abroad that they take can be daunting. Going to a foreign country, not knowing the language and eating different food can be enough to put some people off, but you do find that you can very quickly adapt and fit in with the locals if you take the time to do a bit of research beforehand.
When planning your first holiday I would always advise not straying too far from home. For UK citizens, Spain or France are often a good bet as many people speak English and you will not have to endure long haul flights like you would should you chose to go to America or Australia.
Being prepared is often the way to avoid a lot of anxiety, such as getting your passports, making sure you have made plans for any pets to be looked after and starting to work out what you will need to take with you. Once you have booked the holiday you can look on the internet to find out what there is in the local area and where the important places are.
