The Taj Mahal is a white marble mausoleum located on the southern bank of the Yamuna River in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 1632 as a tomb for one of his three wives. It is a very popular tourist destination and sees millions of visitors every year.

Princess Diana visited the Taj Mahal and had a photo taken outside the front of it sat on a bench. This spot has now become a place where tourists like to visit and recreate the photo by having a photo taken in the same place.

Although it was built in 1632, further extensions of the project meant that it was not completed finished for another ten years. The interior of the Taj Mahal is unlike any normal building, the money, time and resources put in to making the Taj were immense and it still requires a lot of ongoing work to keep it in a pristine condition.
